The Schmitt Music Mural

© Kristen Ramirez Photography

This mural on what was Schmitt Music was painted in 1972 based on Maurice Ravels, "Gaspard du la Nuit" because it was "pretty" according to the Schmitt Music website. I have a feeling the artist had put a little more thought into it. The concert this piece is from, has three parts, that were based on poems, the bits on the wall belonging to the third movement, called Scarbo, about small vision of the devil. The music on the wall is said to be scattered with jokes for musicians, I don' t know that much about music but I know the parts shown from the last three pages are out of order.

Here is another blog about it.
